Hi Cathleen,

I have sent an email to Rose Berger and Liz Denlinger regarding [our exchange last week](https://gijustice.com/20111107-1409-sojo/), as they have some sense of where I'm coming from. You and I have no relational history, which likely was a contributing factor to what happened last week. It will be up to them to share that email with you or not, but I will say that it was not written with sharing it with you in mind.

Because I am studying ethics and because I find silence to provide evil the sanctuary it so eagerly seeks, I wanted to acknowledge your last email and share honestly with you how I received it - I found your reply to be inconsiderate in its brevity and in your use of your (personal?) gmail account. Furthermore, I was/am troubled by the appearance that it was not read, or, if it was, that no justification was offered for the editorial decision (three minutes seems like a very quick read, but I suppose it is possible).

As the web editor, you don't owe me an explanation, nor is one necessary. But silence is a right I don't plan to exercise when conversation is called for. I realize I sounded angry. I ***was*** angry, and I had every right to be. I thought I was careful in my choice of words in the submitted piece, but if you did not find that to be the case, I am happy to receive your constructive criticism. However, I do not think I will be collaborating with Sojourners in the foreseeable future. If that negates the utility of a response by you, I can certainly understand.
