# 📧 to CT: "I assumed the nonresponse was collective"

Thanks for getting back to me and I am sorry I have not had the chance to return the favor as promptly as I would have liked. I am looking forward to seeing Rob's letter in the September issue, and appreciate your commitment to the ongoing conversation around veterans and the Church. As for a few of the specific questions/points you raise in your email, the extended caption (about my name) looks really long, and I'd be happy having the stuff about my degree removed to shorten it if you agree. Also, I don't see any pictures other than the one of me staring at the floor, am I seeing that right, and is that intentional? 

What I meant by "radio silence" is that I had not heard from anyone at CT, Alecia or otherwise. She said she had forwarded my email proposing some kind of social media collaboration to other editors, so I assumed the nonresponse was collective and therefore simply an effect of busy-ness overall within CT or reflective of journalistic etiquette of some kind (I never assumed it had anything to do with Alecia specifically). It was the same reason I gave, in my head, to not being included in any decision making about which particular image to use (or to alerting me personally in some way prior to going to print). Because of my military training perhaps, I assumed there would be much more communication, and in its lack, I was trying to respect what I figured was par for the course in journalism. 

As for a phone call, I'd really like that. Let's connect one on one in another email thread to set up a time that would work. Looking forward to hearing from you.
