That is unfortunate that you were not clear about the offense your comments caused. I tried to be very direct and concise in the email I sent Carole re. "[Stanley's comments are crossing a line](https://gijustice.com/20160321-hauerwas/)," or a subject line to that effect.

I look forward to chatting, but I am not willing to meet in your office. I can meet in the middle by coming to Duke to chat, but I do not have plans to go to the divinity school. I look forward to hearing a date, time, and place that is convenient for you.
