I am excited because I put a lot of heart and soul into it, hoping to enrich the public conversation about soldiers and veterans. But I'm also scared because I know how high the stakes are and what I already think I failed to say or to say more carefully. As you know, 21 soldiers and veterans take their own lives every day, or once every 68 minutes. *God is a Grunt* was born out of the idea that military suicide has as much, if not more, to do with human dignity as it does mental health.
