📧 "Testifying Tuesday for SJM" from Thatcher

There will be a hearing on SJM 1 on Tuesday at 1 PM in hearing room B. This is a big deal as most bills never get a hearing. Do you plan to testify? Do you also have others lined up to testify? Do you have others who may not be able to attend in person, but could submit written testimony?

All of the above will be important to hopefully convince the committee to vote the bill to the floor for a full vote from the senate.

Please get back to me ASAP.

Also, do you have some comments Senator Thatcher could give in support of the bill before the committee?

Hey Linda, I have an angle to simplify the problem I want to highlight with the Memorial, but I'm having difficulty getting some info that could help me drive the point home. Do you have time for a phone call? I am just now coming up for air looking into this, and typing is just a little more time consuming than a phone call. But basically there's this Marine veteran who got dragged for "hate crimes" under an ORS that does not contain that language. It's a difficult stroy to tell, but I need help finding him and getting some of the facts straight. I was wondering if you had any resources as an ORLA office that could help me close this loop. Again, feel free to text me, I need to run some errands before picking up my kids so I'll be away from my computer until at least 5 so I won't be able to get much in the way of comments to you before the weekend, when I suspect yall will also be less available.
