I got the April 2025 member newsletter earlier today, so I know my local NAACP chapter is functional. That begs the question "Why am I still waiting for a response on civil rights for 32,000 veterans in Oregon?" The disregard for military civil rights you have displayed tells a story of an organization or leadership that only supports liberty and justice exclusively for ***civilians***.

What is it about military service that NAACP leadership sees as unworthy of support?

I am CCing the office of Senator Kim Thatcher, who introduced [Senate Bill 1057](https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2025R1/Measures/Overview/sb1057?ref=gijustice.com) and Senator Sara Gelser Blouin, its chief sponsor and in whose district the Linn Benton Chapter operates. If this chapter is being dishonest about its charitable purpose, then it doesn't need to continue receiving federal tax exemption. If you continue to ignore my concerns, it calls for a complaint with the IRS. Maybe it's the most honest federal agency left in the culture wars...
