Officer Beeton's Narrative
On 04/01/2026 at approximately 1128 hours, I responded to Snell Hall (2150 SW Jefferson Way) for a request of Police standby. The reporting party, Logan Isaac, advised dispatch they intended to contact two subjects inside the Holcomb Center-Military and Veteran Resources, and were anticipating a potentially violent response. I recognized Isaac's name from a previous case I worked on 05/07/2025. As a result of the previous incident Isaac was issued a lifetime exclusion from all OSU owned and controlled properties. See OSU Police case number 2025-00494 for more information. Prior to contacting Isaac I ran him through RMS and observed he had active exclusions from OSU on file.
Upon arrival I contacted Isaac who recognized me from our previous interaction and immediately requested another Officer. I informed Isaac my supervisor was arriving and directed him to Sergeant Geeting's patrol vehicle which was arriving on scene. I informed Isaac he was being detained and advised him of his Miranda rights.
Isaac told me I was violating his rights accused me of being a member of the KKK and stuck his hand in his pocket balling his fist around something. I instructed Isaac to keep his hands out of his pockets which he refused to do and again told me I was violating his rights and he did not need to follow my instructions. With the assistance of Sergeant Geeting and Officer Shobe, I placed Isaac in handcuffs, checked the cuffs for proper fit and double locked them. Logan was resistant to being placed in handcuffs. He was tensing his arms, yelling at us and attempting to pull away. The cuffs were only successfully applied by Sergeant Geeting and Officer Shobe holding Isaacs arms while I applied them. Isaac requested the cuffs be adjusted for his comfort, however when I attempted to adjust them he again pulled away and yelled that I as a member of the Klan (KKK). Due to Isaacs his level of cooperation I was unable to adjust his cuffs at this time. Isaac was taken into custody at 1143 hours.
I walked Isaac to my patrol vehicle, searched him for weapons and means of escape, finding none and placed him in the back of my patrol vehicle. During the duration of the search Isaac continued to yell and pull away. The search was only successfully completed by Officer Shobe holding one side of Isaac while I held the other and performed the search. Due to this behavior I was unable to adjust the cuffs at this time. Officer Shobe contacted staff inside the Holcomb Center and confirmed Isaac had not entered the center or interacted with staff that day. I transported Isaac to Benton County Jail. We arrived to the jail at 1155 hours.
While enroute to the jail Isaac informed me his exclusion expired on 01/22/2026 and he had gone to the Holcomb Center to request an apology from the people who filed a complaint against him. I informed Isaac that Police Databases showed him as having a current exclusion on file from OSU and despite him telling me the exclusion had expired based on the totality of the circumstances it was reasonable to conclude he was more likely than not trespassing on OSU property.
Upon arrival to Benton County Jail, Jail staff contacted Isaac and began asking standard intake questions. The first question related to suicidal thoughts which Isaac declined to answer. Based on Isaac refusing to answer, Jail staff informed me they would need a Medical Clearance Report in order to admit Isaac.
I transported Isaac to Good Samaritan Hospital. We arrived to the hospital at 1220 hours. Hospital staff evaluated Isaac and completed a Medical Clearance Report, clearing him to be lodged at Benton County Jail. While at the hospital Isaac advised his [redacted] would be getting out of school soon and he was supposed to be picking them up. We contacted Isaacs wife [redacted] and advised her of the situation. [Redacted] stated Isaacs exclusion expired on 01/22/2026 and they had a letter from Chief Yon confirming this. Chief Yon was contacted and the following information was learned regarding Isaac's exclusion.
During the 10 day period after issuance Isaac submitted an appeal to Chief Yon to have the exclusion removed. Chief Yon denied the appeal, but added a note at the base of the denial that the exclusion would expire on 01/22/2026. This information was not updated in RMS.
Based on the new information I apologized and told Isaac he was no longer in custody. I transported Isaac back to his vehicle removed his handcuffs and returned his property. Isaac thanked me for my professionalism, and I again apologized for the situation. This concluded our interaction. Isaac was returned to his vehicle at 1423 hours.
