# GI Hater: Cole Bridges

Cole “Gonzales” Bridges provided guidance to murder U.S. Service Members of the military in January 2021, after [Section 4712](https://gijustice.com/soldiers-amendment/) of the [Hate Crimes Prevention Act](https://gijustice.com/content/files/2026/05/hcpa-6.html) made it a hate crime to target victims “on account of their military service.” Bridges was never charged with a hate crime under [18 U.S.C. § 1389](https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1389?ref=gijustice.com).
