GI Hater: Jonas Edmonds
Jonas Edmonds coordinated with a service member, Hasan Edmonds, to impersonate a soldier in order to gain access to and violently attack a military installation. He was arrested on March 25, 2015, after Section 4712 of the Hate Crimes Prevention Act made it a hate crime to target victims “on account of their military service.” Edmonds was never charged with a hate crime under 18 U.S.C. § 1389.
