Greg and Robert -
I just got a chance to talk to Logan, who is written about in the book (and who returned to Rutba with us). He has some significant concerns and potential edits about some of the parts of the manuscript regarding him, particular some personal representations of his feelings, quote(s) from his journal used. I wanted to drop a note to say it is critically important to me that Logan feel good about this book and in particular that he not feel misrepresented. I want to encourage you to connect with Logan about any rewording or editing he recommends. I know you are on a tight timeframe and ready to go to print soon, but this is a really important thing to be resolved. Thanks guys -- you are in my prayers. Very excited to see all the fruit that will come from your tireless effort! -shane claiborne

Shane & Robert,
Logan and I have been emailing this week, and I've told him I'm willing to work with his concerns short of distorting anything truthful/factual. I've not seen his latest concerns yet so I don't know to what extent the manuscript would have to be adjusted. To make sure everyone is on the same page, below are the emails from this week following Logan's abbreviated read of the manuscript and his contacting me. I had already read to him in-person Chapter 6 (At War With War) at a Starbucks in D.C. in January-- the chapter in which he is more or less profiled -- and we adjusted some minor things then to address his concerns. Will gladly continue to work with him and attempt to make him comfortable, but his voice/experiences in this book should not be dismissed or edited out. My opinion.

Thanks, Greg. I'm ok with whatever you work out. Just please do your best to get this done as soon as possible.
Hope everyone can be at peace with this.
