📧 “Endorse my next book?” (ignored)

Hi Esau,

My third book, God is a Grunt and More Good News for GIs, has just been sent in for copyediting at Hachette and I can't be more excited and, honestly, also scared. I am writing to you to ask if you would consider reading a few chapters (or the whole manuscript) and offering a short blurb to possibly include on the book jacket or a webpage?

I am excited because I put a lot of heart and soul into it, hoping to enrich the public conversation about soldiers and veterans. But I'm also scared because I know how high the stakes are and what I already think I failed to say or to say more carefully. As you know, 21 soldiers and veterans take their own lives every day, or once every 68 minutes. God is a Grunt was born out of the idea that military suicide has as much, if not more, to do with human dignity as it does mental health. As a Christian, I think our faith has more to offer military families than "pious irrelevancies, sanctimonious trivialities," and/or platitudinous gratitude.

For more information, you can find a brief explainer and updated Table of Contents at www.GruntGod.comI can either send you an uncorrected digital proof right now or I can have Hachette send you a galley after copyediting wraps up in mid-September. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope you will let me know if you have any questions or feedback.
