📧 “Cease and Desist: 2nd attempt”
Sent January 13, 2025 at 1005 to all prior addressees plus the Executive Director, Chief Advancement Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Senior Adviser.
About a week ago, I notified Sojourners Editor in Chief, Senior Editor, and Senior Associate Opinion Editor that I wanted all of my writing to be removed unless Sojourners had compensated me for my work. I listed one item I know was paid and I requested documentation for two other items. No representative replied to my request so I am elevating it to a legal demand:
Remove my writing or I will file suit for copyright infringement.
I will check the Sojo.net website at 5pm on Friday, January 17th. If any of my copyrighted material still appears, I will take legal action to protect the value of my labor.
Be as profitably partisan as you like, use as many civilian stereotypes as you feel you need to make money, tokenize every veteran you can find, but leave me out of it. If you expect to have me in your pocket, you're going to have all of me or none of me. You have one week to decide.
