Hi Alecia;

The shoot went off without a hitch as far as I can tell and Jo was a great presence, she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I wanted to check in with you about the wedding photo idea and hear, if it's still something you are interested in, whether sending you five shots Laura and I think are really good (that will both save you from going through like a billion photos online as well as give Laura some influence over which picture of her the public might get a glimpse at). Just say the word and we'll give you links or full resolution pics via Dropbox or something.

Furthermore, I wanted to ask something that I might need to be in touch with the editorial team for. Specifically, I wondered if the timing (June issue) puts the story in the wake of Memorial Day and anticipates the annual theological maelstrom of July 4th. If that's the case, I wonder if it might be worth considering for CT to collaborate with Centurions Guild, since we are doing a weeks-long social media campaign around Memorial Day (in particular of the importance to think ahead about what to do "After the Yellow Ribbon" and how to continuously work for reintegration of military personnel in the wake of two wars). We are launching on Wednesday though, and I didn't think of even asking until this morning as we were shooting. I figured it might be mutually beneficial working together to build up to the June issue (through May25th, which is  this year's Memorial Day) and then have the buzz feeding into the story as it releases and pastors are then faced with the looming prospect of July 4th.

If that's something that might have some traction, I'd be happy to talk with whoever it is that say with some certainty whether the social media arm of CT could work in tandem with Centurions Guild. There's really only a very small team of us, so we can work somewhat fast when we need to. It might help to have a copy of the edited article, but I don't know if that violates journalistic etiquette to share a story with one of its subjects prior to it being released publicly. My gut tells me theres some reason not to share it, so feel free to tell me if that's the case. Hope this has made sense and looking forward to seeing the final product after all the finishing touches are applied!

peace,

Logan,

So very glad to hear that you think the shoot went well. That eases a lot of my personal concern over this! Thank you for participating. I am eager to see what Jo captured!

Yes, I am still interested in a wedding image if we can caption it with something about why you changed your name and what that signified at that time in your life. I will pitch that to the editor of the piece. Please pick 1 or 2 photos and go ahead and send the high res to me. If we use one, I will get in touch with the photographer to secure permission for the image.

As for the timing and possibility of working with Centurions Guild, I'm passing all of this on to the editor of the piece, the editor of the magazine, the marketing team, and our social media person. I'm sure you'll hear from one of them. Thanks for thinking of this!

Thanks again!

Alecia
