That is unfortunate that you were not clear about the offense your comments caused. I tried to be very direct and concise in the email I sent Carole re. "Stanley's comments are crossing a line," or a subject line to that effect.

I look forward to chatting, but I am not willing to meet in your office. I can meet in the middle by coming to Duke to chat, but I do not have plans to go to the divinity school. I look forward to hearing a date, time, and place that is convenient for you. 

Dear Logan:
I am tied up through next week.  Could you call me the week following and we can arrange a time to get together. My grandson is graduating from high school and I am going to his graduation.
