@1411 Shane to me, Don, Elaina, Rebekah
Don and all — I wanted to let you know Logan and I had a good conversation recently, and we brainstormed some ways we could work together to better support veterans and current military service members, which as you may know is what Logan does with his work at Centurion’s Guild. He can’t make it to Lynchburg, but wanted us to know that there is an important story from Lynchburg related to this of Desmond Doss: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desmond_Doss#World_War_II_service
Logan also would like us to explore some ways we can highlight or collaborate with his Military Social Justice Seminars (www.military-social-justice.eventbrite.com). He’s also interested in future revivals, and I nominated him for this years December gathering but we were already full, so I do hope we can have him with us sometime in the near future. I also — Rebekah — would like to explore Logan for a future Windows of The World at Eastern (though I know the next 1-2 need to be female voices). [Elaina — I asked Logan if he would consider writing a piece about Mr. Doss and why Logan thinks we need a Red Letter Revival right now in America]
Mostly, I want us to keep Logan in mind and have hope hearts and eyes to possible collaborations — he is working with a population (veterans and current military) that has one of the highest, if not the highest, suicide rates of any demographic. And Logan has helped me understand how some of our progressive Christian voices have sometimes inflicted further harm when we talk in hubris and polemics. Let’s keep thinking of ways we can support — and Logan is aware that we have very little money but a fair amount of social “capital”. Love to all. —shane

Wow. Thanks Shane. And thanks Logan for the kingdom work you do. I look forward to reading these links, contemplating my own need for repentance and growth in this area of justice and looking for ways to collaborate. Bless you, brother! Specially can’t wait to read what you’ve shared about Lynchburg.
