Shane: [00:00:00] Um, when we have you, you know, put on the RLC site, when I, you know, right now organizing the event, two events with you and much less like exploring, you know, writing project or something together. Um, those, those seams, like. Cursing and, you know, drop the meth bomb and name calling on social media, like are major concerns of mine.
Um, so that's all I wanted to let you know.
Logan: Okay. Um, I haven't asked you to promote or defend specific tweets. I have asked you to promote specific events. I don't see how that's mutually exclusive.
Shane: Well, I mean, I just had never, I've never part of my criteria for collaborating and I mean, certainly for RLC [00:01:00] is folks that, um, are. Reflecting like the values of Jesus and the fruits of the spirit. And, you know, that's, I don't, I mean, I don't know how you can call someone and f-ing hypocrite and a douchebag in love. And I'm all about speaking truth. I think prophetic fire, you know, is good, but it, it also is most powerful when it's coupled with humility and fruits of the spirit speaking truth in love.
Logan: Um, I can tell you why I said he's a fucking hypocrite and I can tell you why actually I wasn't calling Kevin OD douchebag. I was satirically encouraging, discouraging him from going, uh, full, angry white douchebag. Um, and this cuts against the grain of your own writings. When you talk about how Rocca fool would have been a curse word.[00:02:00]
Others have stated probably more articulately and certainly more amplified than I have about how we care more about saying shit. Then the fact that there's 250 million babies starving in the world. So it's like,
Shane: I think my concern is more with the like personal insult and I like, I just steer away from that. I mean, for
Logan: me and my own, even, I don't know, Lindsey Graham, he's a public servant. He's not going to read my and a hypocrite is from the Greek word. Hip hop, PIPA cryptos, which is a pretender. He made a big passionate, emotional plea before the entire world. And just not very long ago, his party delayed. They qualified or denied a qualified person to hold a seat on the same body that cabinet is now holding. So he is a pretender and he isn't just any pretender. He is [00:03:00] a fucking pretender, which is the use of obscenity indicates the ramifications and the extent to which his hypocrisy extends. I mean,
Shane: so I hear that you can justify that I'm telling you that like I cannot, and like be associated with.
Logan: I'm not asking you to justify it.
Shane: Okay, cool. Well then that's why. I blocked everyone that curses someone out or,
Logan: that's not true. I know that Don golden has insulted president Trump. I know that others in RLC have done the same. So this is beginning to look selective and you don't have to block unfollow them.
Shane: I mean a good option. I'm just telling you, like, if you see that, let me know, because that's not what I want to be affiliated with anyone that's cursing or, you know, calling someone names. That's not what I want to be about.
Logan: I'm happy to send you [00:04:00] Don's tweets, but it's also noteworthy that the tweet that you sent out after you blocked me included the word pussy in it. So it's not at least I appreciate that. You're not saying that the mere presence of curse words is block a Blockable offense, right?
Shane: No, it's more, the it's more the personal, it's like an insult with the F-bomb. I think that like, it's pretty over the top and I can't, I can't justify that.
Logan: Yeah, I, again, I haven't asked you to, and you don't want to debate the use of the words on its merits or what I've said to you. Your audience is different than mine. There's a reason that the phrase curse like a sailor is common parlance. So if, if a military person is scrolling through my Twitter feed and they S they notice that I'm like using asterisks or self-censoring, I lose credibility with my audience. So for you to penalize me for speaking in terms that my own audience. [00:05:00] Finds credible. Then certainly you have the right to do that. But again, I've said before, you don't have to block me, you can unfollow me. You can ignore it. You can not promote it. So your decision to block me is excessive. And I'm not sure exactly how I'm supposed to interpret that other than a willful isolation from someone who, you know, and I know is already being.
Shane: Okay. So I'll, I'll, I will change that. Um, and, and I think you hear what I'm saying, like, uh, I mean, like, I don't know what if Eastern chooses to cancel you because you've, you know, called you said something on social media, like you're trying to get into a Christian university as a speaker. And like, I, like, if I was the president of Eastern, I would have concerns, but like, I'm not going to bring it to their team. But I do think that that's something you should think about it. If you want to reach an audience and in the Christian, even though
Logan: [00:06:00] yeah. Christian fragility is, is not my problem. My problem is soldier suicide. And so if Eastern or you or anybody else can't handle the obscenity of suicide like that, that's, that's something you get to answer to God for. Like, there's not, I can't do anything about that. That's Eastern's problem or your problem. Like that is the problem. That civilians isolate veterans and veterans. And I can share with you survey answers that were not solicited. That said I have a problem with Christian leaders who are afraid of. I am. In fact, I'll share that with you if I will, because you don't seem to appreciate the significance of this only, that it's significant in a way that offends you. And so you want to silence it and get it out of your purview where that's like that doesn't make any sense in terms of social justice. Like everyone, that black Twitter is a place that you [00:07:00] may never get the pleasure and privilege of experiencing if you can't handle a curse word.
Shane: Got it. So, um, I'm getting on the plane now, if we need to talk more, we can, but I will. I will. I think you hear what I'm saying. I hear what you're saying. Um, we will continue to move forward with the events that we have on the road.
Logan: Okay. And I heard you say that you did not. I heard you say that you did not bring a tweet to the attention of a university official, is that correct?
Shane: I did not.
Logan: Do you know of anybody else who did or would
Shane: no. I mean, they're going to be following you because you're coming as a speaker, but I just.
Logan: Okay.
Shane: All right, man.[00:08:00]
