SBA Operator: Thank you for calling the SBA Anta speaking. How may I help you?
Logan M Isaac: I'm trying to get confirmation of a complaint I submitted a couple months ago. I don't need any information about it. I just need to know. I just need to confirm that it was successfully initiated.
SBA Operator: I am not able to check that, but I'll let you know what I can do once I get the information that you submitted.
May I have your first and your last name, sir.
Logan M Isaac: First name is Logan, L-O-G-A-N. Last name is [00:02:00] Isaac. I-S-A-A-C. I have the complaint ID as well.
SBA Operator: Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Logan. Isaac, I'm not able to see the complaint or the complaint Id, I wanna ask you a few questions to determine what was the complaint about.
Logan M Isaac: Okay. Uh, I have an SBA backed loan with Chase, uh, JP Morgan Chase. They acted in violation of several federal laws, protecting consumers and small businesses. I'm also a disabled combat veteran, protected under the A DA as well. And on September 11th or so, I filed that complaint. I got the complaint ID, and I also have the SBA loan number as well.
SBA Operator: Okay. So you are trying to follow up on the complaint you filed. Would that be correct?
Logan M Isaac: Yes. I also sent follow up evidence to the IG and the Ombudsman, but I never received any confirmation, even when I submitted my [00:03:00] complaint online. So. I checked my spam. Okay. Oh, I asked because I recently, just before Christmas, I got a referral letter saying that I owed the money on that loan that I had already filed a complaint against the lender for.
SBA Operator: Okay. So, um, quick question for you. I understood all the, that you stated that you submitted a complaint to the Office of Inspector General and that, um, you recently received, uh, a claim from JP JP Morgan Chase, that you owe them funds. Um, did you take a loan, um, a guaranteed loan from JP Morgan and Chase?
Logan M Isaac: Yes. It was a $50,000. Uh, SBA secured loan. Um, mm-hmm. And the, it wasn't, I didn't receive a claim. I've disputed, well, their representative lied to me about the ability to restructure [00:04:00] the loan. After 1, 2, 5 months of trying to negotiate or finding out where I'm supposed to negotiate with them. They lied to me about their ability to restructure it, and they sent me to collections.
They also, once I did finally get that information, they lied to me about the amount of time I would have to respond. They initially gave me 10 days, but at the third day, uh, they went ahead and submitted it for repurchase in retaliation for protected activities to pursue, uh, federal protection. Uh, the, the thing I got a couple of days ago was a notice of intent to refer this debt to the treasury, which is basically the repurchase.
SBA Operator: Okay. And, uh, the only option I have for you, uh, I can give you the address to the Office of Inspector General. You could send a letter, um, expedited through mail to them. Mm-hmm. Specifying [00:05:00] everything you've stated to me. I'm not able to trace any complaint number. Um, you could put all that information that you have sent, the complaint that you have sent and that this is the next thing that you've, um, received from JP Morgan Chase, and they would look into all that. That address is, do you have a pen handy?
Logan M Isaac: Yep.
SBA Operator: Office of Inspector General. Mm-hmm. 4 0 9 third Street. Capital SW Southwest, the suite number is 7 1 5 0 Washington DC 2 0 4 1 6. You could expedite a letter to them. Everything you stated in the complaint, make sure you highlight it there. Uh, there's a complaint number.
Put that on the subject [00:06:00] line slash um. Urgent, um, escalation from guaranteed lender JP Morgan Chase, and then explain everything there. That department will get back with you. Make sure you put your information and how they can reach you in that letter, but that's what I would encourage you to do.
Logan M Isaac: Does the
SBA Operator: any other questions for you today, Mr. Isaac?
Logan M Isaac: Does the Office of Inspector General not respond to emails, written emails? I alerted them on September 12th, the day after I filed my complaint and I most recently, on the December 27th, I sent an email to O oig whistleblower coordinator sba.gov, as well as ombudsman@sba.gov.
SBA Operator: So they do the ombudsman, um, they do different functionality.
Um, they, they, they do, um, [00:07:00] they reveal enforcement issues, compliance, regulatory compliance issues, um, excessive fines and retaliation. They do all that. So if you send them email. Uh, you are welcome to just, uh, explain all that
Logan M Isaac: also in the body of your, uh, well, I'm curious if they're just gonna, are they just gonna ignore something that comes to them by snail mail? If they've already ignored something that's come to them in writing by the internet,
SBA Operator: that's, I wouldn't use that word, ignore. I will say that they could be looking into it and have not completed the investigation.
Logan M Isaac: I mean, it's, we havens three months. Ignore is a perfectly acceptable term because they haven't responded and I've gotten no receipt. Okay, so should I be alarmed that this is a late major lender that received a government bailout just a few months ago and [SBA] don't want to enforce against such a large, you know, bigger, too big to fail bank that's [00:08:00] abusing combat veterans.
SBA Operator: I wouldn't use those words. I will say, um, I know you said you've emailed ombudsman@sb.gov.
You could also call 8 8 8 7 3 4 3 2 4 7. That is directly to the Ombudsman. Um, yeah. Um, telephone number, um, however, with the Office of Inspector General. The address is what I can, that I have, that I can give to you. So try all these, uh, channels. You could resend like a reforward, the email you sent to the ombudsman and said urgent, uh, um, second uh, attempt email and um, see what comes from there.
But those are all the options that I have here.
Logan M Isaac: You said you had a different email for the OIG?
SBA Operator: No, I do not. I have an address for the OIG. The email to the ombudsman you already sent. You could reforward that email, put ENT on the subject [00:09:00] line and put what Chase is trying to do. Or you could call them at (888) 734-3247.
Uh, those are the information that I do have here.
Logan M Isaac: Okay? Okay.
SBA Operator: I'll give those. Any other questions for you today, sir?
Logan M Isaac: I don't think so.
SBA Operator: Alright. Thank you for calling the SBA Answer desk. You have a great day and a happy holiday sir.
Logan M Isaac: Thank you.
